Modular Headspace Comparator – XL bodies are specifically designed for large cartridges, offering two mounting configurations: “Centered” for standard use and “Offset” for Hornady COAL Tools. Made from durable 6061 Aluminum, these bodies allow quick changes of XL Headspace Comparator Inserts and XL Bullet inserts, enhancing your reloading precision and efficiency. You can choose from 2 mounting configurations: “Centered” for normal use, and “Offset” for use with Hornady COAL Tools. This is the body only for the Modular Headspace Comparator tool. You must purchase the body for the Inserts to work. We provide two configurations: Long: This configuration, the longest of the two, works with loaded ammunition up to 50 BMG. Short: This configuration, the shortest body of the two, offers a more compact option when you want to dedicate a body for measuring fired brass or bullets only. We manufacture these bodies from 6061 Aluminum in the U.S.A. They clamp onto your dial calipers, allowing you to change the XL Headspace and XL Bullet inserts quickly without using any tools. Both length bodies feature two clamping configurations when mounting to your dial calipers. Configuration “C”: Centered When you mount the 10/32 Thumb Screw on the bottom side with a “C”, it centers the Modular Headspace Comparator – XL Body on the dial calipers. This configuration suits all normal uses. Configuration “O”: Offset When you mount the 10/32 Thumb Screw on the bottom side with an “O”, it offsets the Modular Headspace Comparator – XL Body on the dial calipers. When using the Hornady COAL measuring tools, you must offset the body on the dial calipers to properly align the Hornady tool with the assembly. *** You will need 8″ dial calipers to make these work appropriately ***
