Outdoor laser distance measuring made easy With the digital on screen Pointfinder the Leica DISTO D5 R makes measuring outside, even in bright sunshine and at very long distances, easy. Both the target and the measurement results can be seen very clearly on the large IPS display(iPhone quality). Avoid moving the device for accuracy when measuring using the new Gesture measure feature, move hand across laser beam and measurement is triggered…. How cool is that! So many features to help with all manner of measuring applications, Smart Horizontal Mode, height tracking, profile or angle measurements. This means that any measurement situation on the construction site can be solved quickly and efficiently. For vertical height measuring between 2 points mount the laser into the FTA360 Cradle Adapter and screw onto the tripod. The height tracking mode uses a digital angle tilt sensor to calculate the vertical height through rotation. The first measurement zeros the angle tilt sensor and then calculates height when you tilt the laser in the cradle upwards. Using the camera align the cross hair on the screen as a target to the desired height and a vertical measurement is calculated from the first measurement you took. Measured data can then be Blue-toothed to the DISTO Plan app or individual templates, e.g. in Excel, email or any application to support an efficient and error-free digital workflow. When the DISTO senses this pulse, it triggers the measurement. Multi-functional endpiece The Multi-functional endpiece folds out from the back of the DISTO and automatically sets the measuring point to either the rear of the DISTO or the tip of the extended endpiece. Bluetooth Keyboard Mode In this mode, your device sees the DISTO as a Bluetooth® keyboard. Press send to deliver measured values to the cursor in any program. In bright outdoor areas, however, or even in bright sunlight, the laser dot is no longer visible. The laser distance meter can still measure without any problems. To aim, however, you now need the Pointfinder – a camera that shows you the target exactly in the crosshairs on the display.
