Description The polystyrene calibration standard is used for instrument calibration. The polystyrene ball / rod, positioned as a sample would in at the laser focus, provides a strong, well-known Raman spectrum against which the imaging system can be aligned to the Raman shift. Calibration is recommended at least monthly and every time the spectrometer is moved.
